Torfaen Leisure Trust is delighted to announce a new partnership with Xplor Technologies that will see the introduction of the revolutionary Legend leisure management system. Regarded as one of the leading leisure management systems in the UK , the implementation of the Legend system will completely transform the experience of the Trust’s members, clubs and groups and key partners.
The Legend system will provide members with a modernised user experience which will fully integrate with the Torfaen Leisure Trust app and Technogym fitness equipment located within Cwmbran Stadium and Pontypool Active Living Centre. The new platform will also enable memberships to be securely purchased and managed online for the first time in the Trust’s history and further efficiencies will be realised through enhanced bookings and invoicing processes.
In addition to the Legend system, the Trust has made a significant investment in new infrastructure that will see door access control systems installed in key locations throughout the Trust’s facilities. This will end the longstanding practice of non-paying customers accessing areas reserved only for genuine members.
A full review of the Trust’s operational practices over the past twelve months has led to the creation of an ambitious modernisation plan, which was kickstarted by the announcement of a new partnership with industry leading gym equipment manufacturer, Technogym. The implementation of the Legend system heralds the second stage of this plan.
Following a competitive tendering process, the Trust selected Xplor Technologies as its leisure management system partner in September 2023 and both parties have since collaborated over the last six months to develop the new Legend system ahead of its upcoming launch.
The Legend system delivered by Xplor Technologies will replace the Trust’s existing system on 21st February 2024. Further information during the transition period will be shared with members in the days and weeks leading up to the launch.
Comment from Chief Executive Officer for Torfaen Leisure Trust, Ben Jeffreys:
“We are thrilled to have partnered with Xplor Technologies and the introduction of the Legend system will completely transform how the Trust operates.
“Over the past twelve months, we have audited every aspect of the Trust’s operations and identified several opportunities to protect our existing income streams and therefore improve the resilience of the business moving forward.
“The audit revealed that the existing leisure management system was not fit for purpose and has significantly hampered the both the member experience and the Trust’s revenue potential over a prolonged period.
“There is no better example of this than the lack of functioning turnstiles or door access control throughout the Trust’s facilities. This has literally opened the door to a substantial amount of unacceptable non-paying usage and congestion which has detrimentally impacted the Trust’s legitimate members.
“Our investment in infrastructure and staff training will prevent this from taking place moving forward and when combined with the ability for prospective customers to purchase memberships online for the first time, this is a game changing development for the Trust.
“This partnership shows our commitment to vastly improving the fortunes of the Trust and further demonstrates that the feedback of our members is the cornerstone of our vision moving forward.”
Comment from Business Development Manager for Xplor Technologies, Antony Davies:
“It has been a real pleasure working with the team at Torfaen Leisure Trust to build a leisure platform that will help energise the local community.
“Creating a new digital ecosystem for leisure will help people access the information and services that they need to achieve positive health, fitness and well-being outcomes.
“Making leisure digital is our goal and the new platform will help members to interact with the Trust equally well online as they can currently in centres.
“We look forward to supporting Torfaen Leisure Trust and helping to get local people more
active, more often through the introduction of the Legend platform
