NERS Parkrun Partnership

The NERS Torfaen Team are very excited to announce a new partnership with Pontypool and Cwmbran Parkrun, the first partnership of its kind in the UK!

Those referred to NERS will now have the opportunity to participate in a Parkrun whilst also attending the exercise referral programme. This provides individuals the opportunity to take advantage of TLT facilities and enjoy some fresh air. This blended exercise approach aims to get as many people active as possible.

For some people, the easiest first step is to volunteer either for a static role, a “Tail Walker” which is the volunteer role at the very back, or as a “Park Walker” which is a new role to encourage other walkers around the course. Equally, it’s just fine to turn up and do your own thing – run, walk or jog.

This activity is encouraged for anyone who wants to walk in a safe environment and participate in an outdoor green activity. Also, those looking to get back into running (Couch to 5k).

Suitable clients on the NERS programme can be referred after the initial 4 weeks on the scheme to participate.
